Coconova began in a very human place – standing in front of a mirror, wanting something beautiful to honour my body, and feeling quietly disappointed by what I found. When I first started shopping for waist beads, most of what I saw were mass-produced strands: uncomfortable materials, colours that faded the moment they met water, and designs that felt flat and lifeless… nothing like me.

I wanted my waist beads to feel like a little ritual – soft on my skin, full of meaning, and aligned with my own energy. Instead, everything felt generic and rushed. Nothing felt magical. Nothing felt intentional. Nothing felt like it was made for women who see their bodies as sacred, not as a problem to fix.

But I quickly realised what that meant in practice: so many people were being quietly left out, or asked to pay more, simply because their bodies didn’t fit inside that one number.
